Heat, humidity and strong sun are hard on natural materials. Three habits do most of the work.
Out of direct sun
Long, direct sun fades and dries natural materials. Keep pieces out of its path.
Away from AC vents
Direct cold air and heat sources both dry a piece out. Give it a little distance.
Wipe spills early
Deal with spills as they happen — most marks lift easily before they set.

Bouclé & upholstery
Keep out of long direct sun. Vacuum gently with a soft brush head. Blot spills with a dry cloth — press, don't rub, so you don't flatten the loop.
Leather
Wipe with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Keep away from direct heat and long sun. Condition occasionally to keep it supple.
Stone
Soft damp cloth, then dry. Clean spills quickly, especially acids — citrus, wine, coffee. Use coasters and mats under hot or wet things.
Wood
Dust along the grain with a soft, dry cloth. Keep out of long sun and direct heat. An occasional wood-appropriate wax or oil keeps the surface even.
Glass & mirror
A soft cloth with a little glass cleaner on the cloth — not sprayed onto the frame, so nothing seeps into the join.
